JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, or HEIC. Your photos stay on this device.

Resize or compress?

Resize changes how wide and tall the picture is. Use this when a site, email, or form wants a certain size.

Compress makes the file weigh less (fewer megabytes) while the picture can stay the same size on screen.

Phone photos are often far larger than you need. Shrinking the width first is usually the easiest way to get a lighter file. If a form says “max 2 MB,” use Fit an upload limit instead.

How to do it

  1. Drop your photos here. They stay on your phone or computer.
  2. Set a max width, a max height, or both: whichever the photo should not exceed. You can also scale by percent.
  3. Download the resized pictures.

Tips

  • Making a small photo bigger will not make it sharper.
  • For a website, 1200 to 1920 pixels wide is enough for most photos.
  • Need Instagram or story sizes? Use the social resize page.

FAQ

Do I upload photos to resize them?
No. Resizing happens on your device. We never get the file.
Will my photo look stretched?
No. Max width and max height keep the same shape. The photo shrinks to fit inside the limits you set. Only the social sizes crop to a frame.
Why is the file still large after I resize?
The picture is smaller on screen, but it may still be saved as a PNG. Compress it, or save as JPG.
