Resize to Instagram post size (1080×1080)
Instagram feed posts are a square 1080×1080. This page cover-crops to that frame in your browser so the app does not guess. Nothing is uploaded.

JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, SVG, HEIC, or AVIF. Your photos stay on this device.
When to use this
Use this when the crop matters as much as the width. A landscape phone photo will lose the sides. A portrait photo will lose top and bottom. The crop is centred. You can override width, height, and switch to contain if you must keep the whole picture (that will letterbox).
Instagram still recompresses after you post. Exporting at the native 1080 square avoids an extra downscale on their side. Quality around 0.88 is enough; going to 1.0 rarely survives their encoder.
Stories and Reels are 1080×1920, so use the Instagram story page for those. This page is the feed square only.
Need text or a custom crop first? Photasium, then come back. After download, compress if the app still has a size cap.
How to do it
- Drop one or more photos. They stay on this device.
- Leave the size on 1080×1080 unless you need to override.
- Fit is cover. Change it if you must keep the whole picture or fill the frame.
- Download each file, or a zip of the batch.
Tips
- Leave a little space around faces; cover-crop is centred.
- If the file is still over an upload cap, compress the cropped JPG.
- After you post, the app will compress again. Quality around 0.88 is enough.
- Need a different crop? Use Photasium then drop the file back here.
