When to use this

Use this when a PNG logo has a clear background and a shop, slide, or email app shows a checkerboard or a black box. JPG cannot store transparency, so those empty pixels need a colour before you convert.

Product photos often need a clean white field. This tool paints one flat colour behind the picture and keeps the subject on top. It does not cut a person or object out of a photo. If the background is a colour you want gone, remove that background first, then come back and fill with white.

White is the default. Black suits a light logo. Pick a custom colour when a brand guide names one. Every file in the batch gets the same colour.

Processing stays in this tab. Close the page and the pictures are gone from the tool. The output can be JPG, PNG, or WebP. JPG and WebP are smaller. PNG keeps sharper edges on logos and type.

After the fill, compress the file if an upload still rejects the weight, or convert it if you need a different format than the one you just saved.

How to do it

  1. Drop one image or a batch. Files stay on this device.
  2. Choose white, black, or a custom colour.
  3. Pick JPG, PNG, or WebP, and set quality if you are not saving PNG.
  4. Apply the background, then download each file or a zip of the batch.

Tips

  • Start with white for product photos and most logos.
  • JPG always fills transparency. If you still need a clear background, keep the PNG and skip this tool.
  • A custom colour is the value you pick. It does not sample the photo.
  • Quality around 0.92 is a good balance for JPG and WebP. Lower values make smaller files and softer edges.

FAQ

Do my photos leave this device?
No. The fill happens in this browser. We never receive the files.
Will this remove the background?
No. It paints a colour behind the pixels that are already there. Clear areas become that colour. To clear a flat colour, use Remove background first.
Why does my PNG look different as a JPG?
JPG has no transparency. Empty pixels become the colour you chose, which is what most shops and email apps expect.
Can I fill several images at once?
Yes. Drop a batch and they all get the same colour. Download a zip when done.
